Glossary

Plain definitions of the terms Tactiq uses: absorption, ATR, burst, CVD, dealer, delta, funding, gamma, imbalance, POC, value area and more.

Absorption
Heavy aggression that does not move price, because the other side takes it.
Acceptance
Price that stays outside value for at least two closes.
Area
A price zone where several references overlap: heavy zones, flow zones, order blocks and levels. Prime, strong or normal.
ATR
Average true range: the typical size of one bar. Tactiq measures distances in ATR so that one rule works in quiet and in fast markets.
Burst
Heavy seconds of one side that are up to 3 seconds apart. Bursts make a heavy zone.
CVD
Cumulative volume delta: delta added up over time.
Dealer
In options: the firm on the other side of a customer's option trade. It hedges with the coin. Tactiq estimates dealer positions; nobody publishes them.
Delta
Aggressive buy volume minus aggressive sell volume.
Direction
The daily lean of the market, from four yes-or-no questions: Strong up to Strong down.
Flow zone
A zone made by a stack of three or more same-side footprint imbalances in one candle.
Funding
The periodic payment between longs and shorts on a perpetual.
Gamma
How much an option dealer's hedge must change when price moves. Long gamma: hedging leans against moves (calmer). Short gamma: it chases them (faster).
Heavy zone
A zone made by bursts of unusually large taker size, with a response label two minutes later.
Imbalance
In the footprint: buying at a price at least three times the selling one price lower (or the reverse).
Jev
The second model in the analyst: it gives calibrated take, wait and pass probabilities.
Lesson
A note in the analyst's playbook, written by the daily review. It changes what the analyst is told, never a rule.
Open interest (OI)
The number of open perpetual contracts.
Playbook
The set of live lessons the analyst reads before each review.
POC
Point of control: the price with the most volume.
Premium
The money paid for an option (price × quantity, in USD).
R
The risk of a trade, from entry to stop. A result of +2 R made twice the risk; −1 R lost the risk. Tactiq always shows it after costs.
Regime
The slow state of the market in the Tactiq Flag: trend, tiring, balance or coiling.
Scorecard
How the ideas a lesson matches went before and since the lesson went live.
Stack
Three or more imbalances in a row on one side, in one candle.
Trigger
A closed candle that shows something at an Area: a rejection, an acceptance or a divergence.
Value area (VAH, VAL)
The price range that holds 70 % of the volume. VAH is its high, VAL its low.
Zero gamma (flip)
The price where dealers switch between long and short gamma. Which side is calm depends on the data: the chart's tag says it (for example "calm above / fast below"), or "No flip near price" when there is none close by.
